Keysight DSOX2012A Oscilloscope
The DSOX2012A from Keysight is a 100 MHz bench oscilloscope in the InfiniiVision 2000 X-Series, designed for engineers, as well as for academic use, for flexible signal analysis. It has two channels with upgradability of up to 200 MHz bandwidth through a post-purchase license, so it can keep up with changing project requirements. The oscilloscope takes advantage of MegaZoom IV ASIC technology for a rapid waveform update rate of 200,000 waveforms per second, helping to catch transient activity and signal anomalies. The highest sampling rate is a rate of 2 GSa/s, while per channel it has 1 Mpts memory, a compromise of speed vs. depth for in-depth study of signals.
The DSOX2012A combines five tools in a single enclosure: mixed signal oscilloscope (up to 8 digital channels), logic analyzer, optional 20 MHz function generator, serial protocol decoder, and 3-digit digital multimeter. Multi-functioning conserves bench real estate while supporting applications in debug in embedded systems, power analysis, and in education labs. The display is a wide, color, 8.5-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 800x480, so waveforms, measurements, and decoded bus activity are easy to read. Deep-level triggering begins with edge, pulse width, video, and protocol-specific trigger types for I²C, SPI, UART, CAN, LIN (optional software required).
Hardware such as the WaveGen module allows onboard waveform creation (sine, square, ramp, noise) through modulation, instead of drawing from external sources. Segmented memory acquisition streamlines data storage by taking up to 250 segments of a signal, ideal for intermittent signals in the instance of serial communications or pulsed systems. The oscilloscope has connectivity through USB, LAN/VGA (optional), and GPIB (optional), allowing for remote control, as well as data transfer.
With education in consideration, the DSOX2012A has a 13-language local user interface, data security through secure erase, and Keysight's Educator's Training Kit support. The compact design (15 x 8 x 5.6 inches) and friendly front panel with pushable knobs facilitate use in laboratory environments. High voltage differential probes and current probes are supported, further expanding measurement versatility. Compliance with industrial EMC and industrial safety standards allows operation in a broad operating environment range, while offline analysis software allows stored data post-processing for in-depth diagnosis.
