Keysight/Agilent U2701A USB Modular Oscilloscope
The Keysight U2701A is a two-channel PC-based USB modular oscilloscope with a 100 MHz measurement bandwidth. It is engineered for troubleshooting both analog and digital circuit designs at bench and field-site environments. It supports dual play operation that enables it to function as a standalone or integrated modular instrument. This operational flexibility makes it a practical tool for R&D personnel, manufacturing engineers, and field service technicians. The USB modular oscilloscope delivers a real-time sample rate of 1 GSa/s in two-channel interleaved mode. Each individual channel supports an independent sample rate of 500 MSa/s in non-interleaved operation mode. The standard memory depth is 32 Mpts in interleaved mode and 16 Mpts per channel in individual channel mode. The model includes peak detection capability for capturing narrow pulse signals and transient electrical events.
The U2701A unit provides automatic voltage measurements, including peak-to-peak, Vrms, amplitude, overshoot, preshoot, crest, and standard deviation. The time domain measurements include frequency, period, rise time, fall time, duty cycle, delay, and phase values. All measurements update on a continuous basis, and cursors track the last selected parameter automatically. Math operations available on the Keysight USB modular oscilloscope include add, subtract, multiply, divide, and FFT processing functions. The FFT analysis provides 1250 data points for any timebase setting at or above 500 ns. The model supports five FFT window types, including Hanning, Hamming, Blackman-Harris, rectangular, and Flattop. The display formats include XY and roll modes with sin(x)/x interpolation rendered in dots or vectors type. Two standard 10:1 passive probes are included with the model.
The model communicates with a host PC via a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 remote interface port. The device adheres to the USBTMC Class Device standard for standardized instrument control and remote communication. This connectivity supports integration with industry-standard PC-based test automation and data acquisition software platforms. The model is classified under the measurement safety category CAT I and is rated at 30 Vrms.
