Tektronix 475A Oscilloscope
Tektronix's 475A is an extremely portable oscilloscope utilizing two channels that are known for their high bandwidth & precise electronic signal analysis characteristics. The 475A consists of a basic mainframe oscilloscope; however, it can be combined with Tektronix’s optional DM44 Digital Multimeter, which is mounted within the mainframe oscilloscope (without interfering with the oscilloscope’s normal operation) to expand the 475A’s digital measurement abilities. The vertical system’s bandwidth ranges from DC to 250 MHz, while the calibrated deflection factor provides the user with the ability to view a variety of different signal amplitudes by having calibrated deflection factors between five millivolts & ten volts per division. Additionally, the advanced sweep trigger circuitry of the oscilloscope ensures reliable triggering of the displays throughout the entire range of the vertical bandwidths, and this is essential in order to obtain an accurate representation of waveforms.
This unit was designed to work on many different applications and is essential to engineers working in R&D, manufacturing, and field service troubleshooting. The horizontal deflection portion of the unit has a variety of sweep speeds available, which are calibrated to go from .5 second to .01 microsecond/division. With an X10 magnifier built right in, this sweep speed range can be extended to 1 nanosecond/division. When used with the Delayed Sweep option, the ability to measure time differences between events on a waveform becomes possible. In addition, the unit comes equipped with a built-in DM44 multimeter that allows direct digital readings of voltage, resistance and temperature to be taken. Additionally, the 1/TIME function allows the user to take frequency measurements and display them directly, making repetitive measurements easier to perform.
The 475A was designed to operate worldwide, as it has been configured to support a wide variety of line voltages and frequencies, from 48 Hz to 440 Hz, and the voltage regulation has been made adjustable. The overall feature set of the Tektronix 475A includes an X-Y mode at high frequency and a calibrated waveform output capability that make it a total solution for engineers and technicians that require rapid, high-bandwidth signal analysis and complex timing measurements in either their laboratory or factory environment.
