Tektronix TDS1002 Digital Oscilloscope

The Tektronix TDS1002 is a dual-channel digital storage oscilloscope that has been designed to be utilized in extremely precise measurement applications in high-tech operating conditions. The TDS1002 provides a 60 MHz bandwidth and a 1 GS/s sampling rate on each channel so that all electronic signals can be captured accurately and analyzed. The digital storage capabilities of this oscilloscope enable the user to record transient events and analyze them further at a later date. This type of offline analysis is required when identifying intermittent faults in systems that are complex.

Besides its digital storage capabilities, the TDS1002 also features a monochrome LCD display, allowing the user to clearly view waveforms and utilize features such as vertical and horizontal zoom functions to closely examine the waveforms displayed on the screen. As such, the TDS1002 is well-suited for use in industrial automation applications, providing users with the ability to troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motor drive circuits and power supply circuits. The advanced triggering capabilities of the digital oscilloscope provide the means for isolating specific signal anomalies within automated equipment utilizing pulse-width and video triggering capabilities. The Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) feature included with the TDS1002 enables the user to evaluate signals in the frequency domain to identify potential noise problems or harmonic distortions in control signals. Auto-measurement of waveform features (i.e., frequency, rise-time, etc.) will enable the technician/maintenance engineer to quickly determine if a problem exists and to identify where the issue may be occurring.

The TDS1002 has built-in connectivity enabling it to be easily integrated into larger test systems. The ability to utilize an external trigger source and communications protocols will allow multiple instruments to be synchronized during multi-instrument testing setups. Included with the purchase of the storage oscilloscope are passive probes to immediately begin testing. With the combination of reliable performance and an easy-to-use interface that includes an auto-set function and context-sensitive help, the Tektronix TDS1002 provides a practical method for continuously monitoring, validating and repairing plant equipment and devices found in manufacturing plants, production lines and industrial service centers.
