Keithley 2430C SourceMeter Instrument
The Keithley 2430C SourceMeter is a high-precision voltage/current/resistance source-measurement instrument. This versatile device combines a power supply, true current source, DMM, electronic load, and pulse generator into a single instrument, rendering it appropriate for an exceptionally broad spectrum of test applications. Four-quadrant operation capability provided in the unit makes the unit source or sink power with ease, rendering testing of active and passive devices effortless.
The 2430C is a very accurate device with voltage programming resolution as low as 5 µV and current programming resolution as low as 500 pA. It has several voltage and current ranges with a maximum output level of ±105V and ±1.05A in the DC mode, and up to ±10.5A in the pulse mode. The pulse mode of operation of the instrument is especially useful for testing devices needing high current in short time intervals up to a maximum of 8% duty cycle in the 10A range. Remote sensing, providing compensation for voltage drops across test leads, for precise measurements, is included in the instrument.
In the performance of measurement, the Keithley 2430C is very precise with voltage measuring precision as low as 0.012% of reading and current measuring precision as low as 0.027% of reading. It can perform 2-wire and 4-wire measurements of resistance with a standard test current range of 1 µA to 1 A, depending on the resistance range. The product also features a 6-wire ohms mode for applications where active ohms guard and guard sense are necessary.
The source output modes of the 2430C include; pulse, fixed DC level, memory list, and stair (linear and log). It also includes a memory buffer that will hold up to 5,000 readings with time stamps for each measurement. This device can be programmed using IEEE-488, SCPI, and RS-232 commands. It is an excellent choice for handler interface applications that require TTL/relay drive outputs and trigger input.
