Keysight/Agilent M8195A Arbitrary Waveform Generator
The M8195A is a new Arbitrary Waveform Generator designed for accurate and versatile signal generation in research and industrial applications. The M8195A has a maximum sample rate of 65 GS/s and an analog bandwidth of more than 25 GHz, which is suitable for testing wideband wireless RF communications, radar, and electronic warfare systems. This arbitrary waveform generator offers a combination of deep memory, high channel density, and advanced functionality, including sequencing with precise triggering, dynamic external control, and real-time waveform and impairment generation using its onboard digital signal processor.
With flexibility in mind, the M8195A can be configured for single, dual, and quad-channel operation, which can be synchronized with the M8197A multi-channel synchronization module to offer coherent operation on several outputs. The system generates signals with a vertical resolution of 8 bits and can synthesize intricate waveforms that are needed for digital applications, quantum communication, quantum computing, and coherent optical transmission. It facilitates the generation of multi-level digital signals at data rates up to 32 GBaud with system impairment compensation via built-in frequency and phase calibration, 64-tap FIR filtering, and digital pre-distortion techniques.
Precise timing control is provided by channel and module variable delays that allow compensation for intrinsic system skew and external cable variation. Various playback run modes are available on the M8195A, such as gated, triggered, and continuous playback, to provide a seamless interface to external events and precise synchronization. Digital markers with one-sample resolution and various interpolation modes are in the instrument to maintain signal integrity at its best without sacrificing vertical resolution.
An intuitive software environment controls the M8195A through AXIe, PCI Express, or USB interfaces and supports industry-standard programming protocols like SCPI and IVI-COM. Every facet of this product is designed to withstand the high rigor of today's test environments so engineers can simulate, analyze, and verify next-generation communication technology and complex modulation schemes. M8195A is a critical tool for creating high-fidelity signals in a wide variety of applications from wideband RF and microwave measurement to cutting-edge quantum research with precision and innovation in every measurement.
