Keysight E3612A Power Supply
The E3612A from Keysight is a linear DC power supply designed for precise laboratory applications. It operates in two modes: constant voltage and constant current. Under regulated electronic testing conditions, the unit continues to produce consistent results. The power supply offers two selectable output ranges for application flexibility. It supports operation up to 60 V at 0.5 A within rated specifications. It also enables operation up to 120 V at 0.25 A under defined power limits. The output current decreases by 1% per °C from 40 °C to 55 °C ambient temperature.
The E3612A module includes linear regulation circuitry to ensure low noise characteristics. Output ripple and noise are specified across a bandwidth of 20 Hz to 20 MHz. The voltage ripple level is rated at 200 µV rms under standard measurement conditions.
The load and line regulation performance is specified at 0.01% + 2 mV. The linear configuration reduces switching disturbances during sensitive measurement procedures. Range 1 provides an adjustable output from 0 V to 60 V. The maximum rated output power is 30 W during specified operating conditions. The Keysight power supply includes 10 turn voltage control. It also incorporates 10 turn current control for precise adjustment. The multi turn controls allow fine resolution setting during calibration tasks with a meter resolution of 100 mV for voltage indication. The current measurement resolution is specified at 1 mA. The front panel metering of the unit provides clear monitoring of output parameters. It supports stable adjustment in both CV and CC modes. The control transitions occur smoothly without output overshoot.
The E3612A has a continuously acting constant current protection circuit. The Transient response time is specified below 50 µsec. The specification applies to load changes from full load to half load. The output recovery occurs within 10 mV of the programmed level. This fast response supports dynamic electronic testing. The unit provides a high value of 240 Vdc for isolation that enhances operator safety and system integration flexibility. The power supply also uses convection cooling method that is used for thermal management and no forced air system is needed for normal process.
