Keysight E5260A IV Precision IV Analyzer
The E5260A from Keysight is a versatile IV Analyzer that offers a full solution for current-voltage characterization for a variety of materials and devices. The primary measurement tool of the IV analyzer is a source/monitor unit (SMU), which combines the functionality of a voltage/current meter and a 4-quadrant voltage/current source into one instrument. Configurable for up to 8 SMU channels, the device has a maximum power consumption of 80 W.
This precision IV analyzer is capable of supporting 8 slots for plug-in modules, such as the E5290A high power source measure unit (HPSMU) and the E5291A medium power source measure unit (MPSMU). This support for multiple slots makes the E5260A an excellent choice for applications that need more than two SMUs, or when flexibility and future expandability are important considerations.
The E5260A IV analyzer can be synchronized with other instruments with a 25-pin DIN connector that provides 16 general-purpose digital I/O signals. These pins can be assigned to either digital I/O mode or trigger mode and can be used in place of BNC trigger-in and trigger-out lines. They can also be used as digital signal input and output ports. The E5260A is equipped with multiple interface options, including trigger in/out, digital I/O, and GPIB. Auto/self-calibration is another one of the device's helpful features, allowing for increased measurement and output accuracy.
For optimal accuracy during operation, the environmental temperature range should be between 5°C to 40°C. When not in use, the analyzer should be stored in environmental conditions where the temperature ranges from –20°C to 60°C. While operational, the relative humidity range of the environment should span from 15% to 80% and should be non-condensing. The relative humidity range for storage conditions should also be non-condensing, spanning from 5% to 90%.
Physically, the E5260A measures dimensions of 426 mm x 235 mm x 575 mm and weighs in at 17 kg. The analyzer works best after a warm-up time of 40 minutes, and it is recommended to have the device calibrated annually. It can operate at up to 2,000 m and can be stored at up to 4,600 m.
