Keysight M9615A PXIe Precision Source Measure Unit
Keysight’s M9615A is a highly advanced PXIe 5-channel Source Measure Unit that is specifically engineered for complex, automated test applications. This single-slot PXIe module contains 5 independent SMU channels, allowing each channel to independently source and measure voltage and/or current with excellent accuracy. Additionally, the Keysight M9615A has a very large output range of up to 30 volts at 500 milliamperes and offers excellent measurement resolution of 6 microvolts and 10 picoamperes. The M9615A is specifically designed for applications in high-channel-density test systems where minimizing cost per channel and overall footprint is crucial.
Analog/RF circuit analysis, integrated circuit (IC) validation, and semiconductor device reliability testing are some of the primary applications for the Source Measure Unit. It can be used to characterize a wide range of dynamic electrical components because it can do both DC and pulsed measurements (with a pulse width as small as 100 microseconds and a sample rate of 500 kSa/sec). A unique feature of this unit is the automatic current-measurement-range changing (without operator intervention). As the user takes measurements, this unit automatically changes the measurement range so that the maximum signal level does not exceed the full-scale range of the measurement instrument. This reduces the delay time associated with manually changing the measurement range, thus increasing the speed of operation of automated test programs. Additionally, an external low-noise filter adapter can be connected to reduce the voltage-source noise to 25 microvolts rms when testing sensitive devices such as those being developed for use in quantum computing.
Comprehensive software drivers (IVI-C, IVI.NET, and LabView) are available to support the M9615A, as well as SCPI command compatibility, to allow for easy integration of the unit into the users' test framework. A software tool is also available as an option that allows the user to quickly create I-V sweeps and take samples using a graphical user interface without having to write code. With its combination of a high channel density, large dynamic range and high-speed sampling in a compact PXIe format, the Keysight M9615A offers a scalable and affordable method to implement multi-channel precision source and measure units in modern production test and R&D systems.
