NHR 9430-36 Regenerative 4-Quadrant AC Load
Designed to test a broad range of electrical equipment, the NH Research NHR 9430-36 is a multipurpose regenerative 4-quadrant AC load. It can handle input voltages between 10 and 175VRMS and up to 350VRMS L-N at frequencies between 30Hz and 880Hz. It supports single, split, or three-phase AC loading and offers great programmability. The system may simulate complex load situations, such as inductive and capacitive loads, by returning power to the source for a portion of the AC cycle. This capability makes it perfect for testing devices such as UPS systems, AC power supplies, inverters, rectifiers, switches, circuit breakers, and fuses.
The 9430-36's capability is significantly increased as compared to conventional 2-quadrant loads because of its 4-quadrant operation, which permits bi-directional power flow. Because of this characteristic, it can replicate reverse currents in settings involving inductive or capacitive loads and imitate reactive power flows found in real life. Utilizing the cutting-edge HIVAR® design, the device permits reactive load testing while maintaining true power capacity, yielding VAR ratings as high as 2.6 times the true power.
This AC load is capable of supporting multiple emulation modes, such as Constant RL (CRL), Constant Apparent Power (CS), Constant Power (CP), Constant Current (CC), and Constant Resistance (CR). Since each mode is designed to meet a different set of test criteria, the system is adaptable enough to handle load simulations that are both linear and non-linear. Users can incorporate waveform distortions and transient events, like spikes and dropouts, into their unique waveforms with ease by utilizing the integrated graphics editor. Pre-programmed sequences or macros can also be executed to improve test accuracy and obtain precise phase control.
The high-resolution digital measurement system integrated into the NHR 9430-36 eliminates the need for external equipment like as power analyzers and oscilloscopes. Comprehensive analysis and testing are made possible right out of the box by its high sample rate capability for capturing detailed voltage, current, and power data.
