TDK Lambda GENH20-38 Programmable DC Power Supply
The GENH20-38 from TDK Lambda is a power supply engineered to deliver a rated output voltage of 20 V and a continuous output current of 38 A. The unit is built for reliable and consistent performance with a total rated output power of 760 W and a typical operating efficiency of 85%. The output current remains fully adjustable from 0 to 38 A across the complete operating range. The physical footprint of the unit spans 437.5 mm in depth, 214 mm in width, and 43.6 mm in height with an overall nominal weight of 4500 g.
Mounted on the front panel of the GENH20-38 are dual encoder controls that allow independent adjustment of both voltage and current parameters. The output voltage is displayed in real time on a four-digit voltmeter, which also serves as the interface for configuring OVP, UVL, and address settings. The live current output readings are presented on a dedicated current display that additionally reflects the configured serial communication baudrate. The six onboard status LEDs convey operational states, including Output On, Remote Mode, Foldback Mode, Fine Control, Preview Settings, and Alarm Conditions.
The GENH20-38 power supply delivers tightly regulated output with both line and load regulation maintained within 4 mV when operating in constant voltage mode. The voltage ripple and noise across the 5 Hz to 1 MHz frequency band are rated at a low 0.008 Vrms, while peak-to-peak ripple and noise measured up to 20 MHz are held within 60 mV under all operating conditions.
The analog interface of the GENH20-38 power supply supports system-level remote control through selectable electrical signal voltage levels. A signal input ranging from 0 to 0.6 V or a short circuit enables remote mode, whereas a signal of 2 to 15 V or an open circuit switches operation to local mode. The enable/disable terminal accepts a dry contact input with a permissible maximum voltage of 6 V. During normal operation, the power supply OK signal outputs a TTL high level between 4 and 5 V, reverting to 0 V upon detection of any fault condition.
