TDK Lambda HFE1600-24 Front-End Power Supply
The TDK Lambda HFE1600-24 is a front-end power supply within the HFE1600 series. This power supply delivers a nominal output voltage of 24 V to connected loads. The output voltage on the model can be adjusted from 19.2 V up to 29 V. The communication on the power supply is available through an optional isolated PMBus interface with the /S suffix. A plug-in LAN module is also offered as a communication option. The model supports parallel operation of up to 10 units with current sharing.
The HFE1600-24 power supply delivers up to 50 A and 1200 W at low line input from 100 Vac to 132 Vac. At a high line input of 170 Vac and above, the power supply delivers up to 67 A and 1608 W. The line regulation on the output remains within 60 mV across the input voltage range. The load regulation for the model stays within 120 mV from no load to full load. The output ripple and noise on the power supply remain below 240 mV under rated operating conditions. An open collector AC fail signal on the power supply activates when AC input is 85 V to 270 V.
The HFE1600-24 front-end power supply operates from a universal AC input voltage range of 85 V to 265 V. The input frequency for the power supply ranges between 47 Hz and 63 Hz across this voltage band. The maximum input current reaches 12.4 A at 115 Vac and 8.1 A at 230 Vac with inrush below 35 A. The hold-up time exceeds 10 ms at 80 % load on either input. The external load capacitance on the power supply is rated at 1000 uF per ampere of load. The model operates reliably across its full load range without requiring any minimum load.
The overcurrent protection on the HFE1600-24 activates at a minimum of 105% of rated current at low line. At high line input, it activates between 105% and 120% of rated current on the power supply. The overvoltage protection trips at 110% with tracking and resets via AC cycle or remote on/off.
