The FIP-435B is a wireless fiber inspection probe from EXFO. This probe streamlines the process of inspecting single and multifiber connectors, making the process both simpler and more efficient. The EXFO FIP-435B boasts quick and precise connector endface analysis and delivers reliable pass/fail results with just one step. With its automatic focus adjustment system, the FIP-435B optimizes image quality to enable technicians of any skill level to perform inspections confidently and quickly.
This model provides effortless wireless operation via Wi-Fi connectivity with live video streaming to compatible devices such as smartphones, tablets, and EXFO test platforms. Pass/fail LED indication provides screen-free operation, simplifying the certification process while keeping the technician's eyes on the workflow. The probe is also backed by EXFO's ConnectorMax2 software that provides more advanced reporting right from a mobile device or PC.
With its compact design, the FIP-435B is also compatible with various fiber connectors like SC, LC, FC, ST, MPO, MTP®, Q-ODC-12®, HMFOC®, and OptiTip®. Both single-fiber and dual-row multifiber (12/24 or 16/32) connectors are supported, so the FIP-435B is ready for deployment in data center, fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) applications, central office, and wireless network installations like 5G and fiber-to-the-antenna (FTTA).
Its five-megapixel high-definition CMOS sensor and auto-centering capability allow the FIP-435B to take clean images without any intervention. Its blue LED coaxial light provides better detection of defects such that even the slightest contaminant or scratches are detected before they can cause network degradation. The probe's autofocus capability makes sure that any images that are not in focus are not detected, which reduces false positives and results in more thorough inspections.
The probe uses a removable battery with up to eight hours of use time in continuous operation. The micro-USB port allows for recharging and wired connection when needed. FIP-435B weighs only 0.3 kg and is very portable, making it an easy-to-use instrument for field technicians working on large-volume inspections.
