Aeroflex 3025 Digital RF Signal Generator
The Aeroflex 3025 Digital RF Signal Generator is a precision-engineered RF signal generation module designed for high-performance industrial automation systems. It delivers advanced digital and analog modulation features for demanding RF testing environments. It provides a broad operational frequency range from 100 MHz to 6 GHz, with usability extending down to 76 MHz for supporting both CW and modulated RF outputs for versatile industrial and research applications. The Aeroflex 3025 unit offers exceptional level accuracy of ±0.3 dB for ensuring consistent and reliable performance in precision testing setups. It maintains a peak output power range of −120 dBm to +5 dBm up to 3 GHz and −120 dBm to +0 dBm above 3 GHz. This range enables accurate simulation of real-world RF conditions across wide frequency bands. The product’s frequency settling capability and support for high-speed switching within the DDS band below 85 MHz is ideal for frequency-agile operations.
The inclusion of an internal dual-channel arbitrary waveform generator in this module is for flexible digital IQ modulation. Its ARB memory capacity supports up to 32 M samples in standard configuration and 512 M samples with Option 04. This allows seamless playback of complex waveforms using IQCreator software. The module also supports analog I and Q input and output through option 01 for providing differential 100 Ω and single-ended 50 Ω configurations with selectable input impedance. For external control, the Aeroflex 3025 Digital RF Signal Generator includes a 68-way VHDCI LVDS digital interface and SMA connectors for RF output and reference inputs. It supports PXI backplane triggering, TTL inputs and multiple trigger modes including gated, single-shot and retrigger. The internal list mode enables storage of up to 128 precomputed configurations for allowing rapid switching between frequency and power settings.
The Aeroflex 3025 integrates seamlessly within PXI-based test systems, using VISA-compliant VXI Plug & Play drivers for streamlined automation. It provides control through DLL, COM and .NET interfaces with support for Windows XP and Windows 7 environments. Application software such as afSigGen, PXI Studio 2 and IQCreator provides full configuration and waveform management functionality. Mechanically, the Aeroflex 3025 is designed in a PXI 3U single-slot form factor with robust thermal performance between 0 °C and +50 °C. The module features a 2 years calibration period and requires a 20-minute warm-up period for full specification compliance. Its rugged build supports continuous operation in high-duty industrial setups with airflow management and proper torque fitting.
