Keysight/Agilent M8190A Arbitrary Waveform Generator
The M8190A Arbitrary Waveform Generator from Keysight/Agilent is an AXIe module that generates extremely realistic waveforms used by radar, satellite communications, electronic warfare, and ADC test. It has two output ports allowing both outputs to be set independently. The M8190A has two independent Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs), each having its own operating mode. One of them can generate 14-bit resolution waveforms at speeds of up to 8 Gsa/sec for the highest dynamic range waveforms, while the other one can generate 12-bit resolution waveforms at speeds of up to 12 Gsa/sec for even wider bandwidths. Both channels have adjustable sampling rates from 125 MS/sec to 12 GS/sec, are capable of producing 5 GHz of analog bandwidth, and produce less than 15 fs RMS jitter. Both channels support arbitrary waveform memory of up to 2 GSa and are able to sequence playback of arbitrary waveforms over very long durations without interruption.
Designed for High Fidelity Signal Generation, the M8190A Achieves an Effective Number of Bits (ENOB) of 12.25 Bits and Rise or Fall Times Below 60 Psec. The AWG occupies a single slot, fitting into an AXIe Chassis and providing two differential outputs with a maximum amplitude of 2000 mVpp. Simultaneous delivery of both high resolution and wider bandwidth makes the M8190A suitable for creating multilevel signals, noise power ratio measurements, and custom intersymbol interference (ISI) for channel emulation. Applications include IEEE 802.11ad, Cable TV (CATV), Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), Software Defined Radio, Digital Video Standards like HDMI & MHL, and also Jitter Margin Testing for High Speed Interfaces.
The M8190A is integrated directly with many industry-leading software platforms, including MATLAB, BenchLink Waveform Builder Pro, and Wideband Waveform Center. Multi-channel systems may require use of the M8190S system, which includes additional modules, including up to four or eight synchronized modules per system via multiple M9505A Axiem chassis and an M8192A Synchronization Module. Regardless if you need to generate thousands of tones for wireless HD or emulate low-observable systems, the Keysight/Agilent M8190A AWG has sufficient memory size to meet your design's needs.
