Keysight/Agilent P9336A Streamline Series USB I/Q Arbitrary Waveform Generator
The Keysight P9336A is a Streamline Series USB I/Q Arbitrary Waveform Generator engineered for complex wideband signal generation. It provides multiple 540 MHz bandwidth channels at 16-bit resolution with sampling rates reaching up to 1.28 GSa/s. The generator is packaged in a compact single slot PXIe form factor with a USB 3.0 host connection. The applications of the model include wireless communications, radar, satellite systems, DOCSIS upstream signals, and quantum computing control signal generation. The model provides three output channels, each configurable as differential or single-ended outputs with SMB connectors. The per channel control of output skew as well as signal gain and offset enables precise calibration of each output. Up to 8 marker signals are supported per channel for synchronization and external triggering with test instruments. The paired differential channels of the generator deliver a combined I/Q modulation bandwidth of 1080 MHz for demanding wideband signal applications.
The P9336A USB I/Q Arbitrary Waveform Generator provides full bandwidth SFDR greater than 67 dBc on differential channels at 16-bit amplitude resolution. The selectable amplitude flatness correction achieves ± 0.15 dB signal flatness across the DC to 540 MHz frequency range. The corrected phase flatness is maintained within ± 1 degree over the DC to 540 MHz range. The arbitrary waveform generator achieves EVM as low as 75 RMS on a 20 MHz LTE-A signal. The waveform sample and sequencing memory of up to 4 GB supports flexible waveform definition and extended playback. This memory capacity allows users to build multi-segment waveform scenarios without repeated data transfers to the instrument. The advanced sequencing and triggering modes enable the USB I/Q arbitrary waveform generator to generate complex event-based signal simulations for chipset testing.
Each output channel of the P9336A unit has its own fully independent sequencer for flexible waveform playback operation. The individual channel sequencers can be synchronized to produce tightly aligned I/Q baseband signal pairs. The waveform sequences are assembled from individual segments and repeat loops, supporting nesting of up to 8 levels.
