Keysight DAQ970A Data Acquisition System
The Keysight DAQ970A Data Acquisition System provides high-precision measurement capability along with modular flexibility and is apt for simplifying complex data acquisition applications in laboratory and industrial environments. It is built around a 3-slot mainframe featuring a built-in 6½-digit digital multimeter (DMM) that has a basic DC voltage measurement accuracy of 0.003% and 22-bit resolution, thus providing assurance of accurate recording of dynamic signals with fewer noise interferences. It has scan rates of up to 450 channels per second and can easily tackle high-throughput applications without any loss of accuracy.
The DAQ970A is designed to support as many as 120 channels with interchangeable plug-in modules, such as multiplexers, RF switches, and a simultaneous sampling digitizer with 4 channels. These modules can be used to measure 14 different signal types, including thermocouple and RTD temperatures, AC / DC voltage and currents, resistance, frequency, and capacitance; as well as strain without needing additional signal conditioning hardware. Internal signal conditioning is built into every channel and reduces system hardware requirements as well as diminishes time to set up a system.
The 4.3-inch color display makes real-time visualizations via numeric, bar graph, or trend chart formats easier, and on-device monitoring and configuration are truly unparalleled in measurement configuration systems. It has data connectivity options through Gigabit LAN, USB 2.0, or by making a virtual front-panel control using a standard web browser, to remotely configure and collect data using standard browsers. The DAQ970A can acquire up to one million time-stamped readings into non-volatile memory. A USB 2.0 port allows for standalone data logging to external USB storage devices. This compact system offers unique options such as alarms per channel, Mx B for scaling, and tracking relay lifetime that contribute to its efficiency. The DAQ970A can work with compatible BenchVue DAQ software to analyze collected data on a PC. With the DAQM909A digitizer module, the BenchVue software can provide tools for time domain oscilloscope measurements and frequency domain FFT analysis.
The DAQ970A can be utilized in all aspects of a project, including validation for R&D, manufacturing test systems, or remote monitoring. It offers the high-level simplicity of a data logger and the scalability needed in modular DAQ systems. The input section is optically isolated to eliminate ground-loop interference and has an auto-ranging function that captures measurements quickly, regardless of varying signal levels.
