Keysight DAQM900A Solid-State Multiplexer Module
Keysight DAQM900A is a 20-channel solid-state multiplexer module specifically designed to be integrated with DAQ970A and DAQ973A data acquisition systems. The module supports fast signal switching and increases test flexibility through the support of two-wire and four-wire scan architectures to allow precise multi-channel data capture in a variety of applications. The high scan rate of 450 channels per second supports rapid input switching, thus being highly beneficial in high-speed automated test applications as well as in environment monitoring and component testing.
The DAQM900A module has 20 isolated channels configured in two groups of ten, allowing for flexible combinations for four-wire resistance measurements to minimize lead resistance errors. It provides the direct measurement of AC and DC voltage, frequency, period, and 2- and 4-wire resistance measurements, as well as temperature measurement via thermocouples. For accurate temperature measurement, a thermocouple reference junction is built in to compensate for cold junction effects, eliminating the need for external compensation hardware. The solid-state relay design offers greater reliability and life in low-thermal-offset (<4 µV) high-cycle applications to maintain measurement integrity.
Providing channel-to-channel and channel-to-earth isolation to switch signals up to 120 V, the DAQM900A Multiplexer Module provides less noise and ground-loop interference in the system even with its complexity. It is hand in glove with the DAQ970A/DAQ973A mainframes onboard 6½-digit DMM to enable direct signal conditioning without any external components. It simplifies the setup in the case of applications with a mix of different measurements such as measuring voltages and thermocouples or resistance in addition to them in a scan.
The DAQM900A features screw-terminal connectors for wiring connections, 16- to 22-gauge, and break-before-make switching for one-channel-at-a-time operation. Built for industrial and laboratory applications, it functions reliably over the 0°C to 55°C temperature range. The DAQM900A is supplied with a test certificate documenting performance specification including channel isolation, switching accuracy, and temperature stability. These range from bench-top measurements and process debugging to remote data logging where channel density, measurement rate, and repeatability are paramount. With its high-speed scanning and multi-functionality, the DAQM900A responds to the needs of modern data acquisition systems in terms of accuracy and expandability.
