Keysight/Agilent DAQM909A Simultaneous Sampling Module for DAQ970A and DAQ973A
The Keysight DAQM909A is a simultaneous sampling digital converter card specifically created to provide additional, synchronous analog channels to the DAQ970A & DAQ973A mainframes. It provides four differential input channels that capture signals at the same time. The user may choose whether they want to measure voltage or use an internal IEPE current source (either 2ma or 4ma) on each individual channel. Since this module allows you to add multiple channels to your basic mainframe, it will now act as a high-speed dynamic signal analyzer capable of acquiring large amounts of data at one time, such as those found during transients, vibrations, and many fast-changing multi-channel phenomena.
When acquiring time-domain waveforms, the DAQM909A is capable of providing 800 kS/sec sample rates with 24-bit resolution. When acquiring frequency-domain data, the module is capable of providing up to 100 kS/sec. The maximum range of any of the four input channels is 36 Vpk. Thus, most any type of industrial sensor output is acceptable. Additionally, each channel has four different input modes available. These include differential voltage, IEPE accelerometers, and many others.
Using these multiple input modes allows engineers to tailor their test configurations to optimize their test equipment for specific measurement requirements. Since all four channels are sampled simultaneously, phase relationships are maintained across all four channels when performing power quality studies and three-phase motor analysis. Memory size per channel can vary from 16 Mbytes up to 48 Mbytes. Therefore, if engineers need to capture long-duration waveforms without interruptions, they have ample memory to do so.
Engineers are utilizing the DAQM909A Digitizer Module in various applications such as harmonic distortion and noise analysis of electromechanical devices, acoustic characterization of electromechanical devices, and vibration monitoring of rotating machinery. By installing up to three (3) DAQM909A modules in one DAQ970A/DAQ973A mainframe, engineers can synchronize twelve (12) channels at once, thereby permitting multi-point simultaneous measurements. This is particularly useful for R&D validation testing, production line end-of-line testing, and condition-based maintenance systems wherein simultaneous data from multiple locations on the same system, i.e., accelerometers, microphones, etc., must be analyzed. Because the DAQM909A uses the built-in trigger and analysis software located within the DAQ970A/DAQ973A Mainframe: No additional synchronization equipment is required to provide native synchronization capabilities.
