Keysight N2263A Digital Input/Output Module
The Keysight/Agilent N2263A Digital I/O Module offers a programmable digital control to automated switching systems. It supports 32 bi-directional lines with input and output operation that are compatible with TTL. The ports will then be able to sink up to 0.6 A to control external devices directly. The model can also operate as four independent 8-bit ports for separate device functions. Two independent 16-bit ports are also available for grouped automation control. The digital module supports three I/O control modes for different communication requirements. Static mode supports direct level control for simple digital state operation. Strobe mode supports timed data transfer between the module and connected equipment. Handshake mode supports coordinated communication where external devices require confirmation signals.
The N2263A I/O module provides channels as configurable groups of bytes. The 32-bit I/O structure can be defined, byte by byte, to provide a flexible system integration. The module can be used as a single 32-bit port and provide wide parallel control. It is also able to control microwave relays and attenuators such as 8710x, 876xx, and 849xx devices. The module provides TTL-compatible digital levels for standard automation interfaces. The output high level reaches at least 2.4 V at a 10 mA output current. The output low level remains at or below 0.8 V during 600 mA sink operation. The input high threshold is at least 2.0 V for valid logic detection. The input low threshold is at or below 0.8 V for defined low states.
This digital I/O module also allows open collector output operation up to 42 V. The line-to-chassis I/O line voltage is rated at +42 V DC. This rating assists in external relay control within the stipulated protection limits. Each channel has a Zener diode as input overvoltage protection. The current sinking external devices can be controlled by each I/O line of the Keysight N2263A. The module can be used to control high-voltage and high-current relays in automated test systems.
