Keysight/Agilent U2355A 64-Channel USB Modular Multifunction Data Acquisition
The U2355A from Keysight/Agilent offers high-density data acquisition using 64 single-ended or 32 differential analog inputs, each having a 16-bit resolution and a 250 ks/s sampling rate. It is also a USB modular DAQ device that has 2 12-bit analog output channels at an update rate of 1 MSa/s for creating arbitrary waveforms. In addition, there are 24 programmable TTL digital I/O lines and 2 counters on this device. For stand-alone use, the U2355A is available in a USB 2.0 high-speed version, or for use as part of a multi-unit system, it can be mounted in a U2781A chassis. The Multifunction Data Acquisition will operate either in burst mode to sample input signals nearly simultaneously or in continuous mode with basic triggering, which simulates a simple oscilloscope.
In industry-wide applications, including design validation, the U2355A may be operated in "polling" mode, similar to how many digital multimeters work, in order to make periodic measurements. Alternatively, the device may be used to perform closed-loop control by using its analog outputs to drive actuators and its digital I/O interfaces to control relays or solenoids. With its ability to measure, generate data logs, monitor environmentals, and perform production tests, the U2355A is ideal when you need to have a level of 16-bit accuracy and moderate sampling rates. Additionally, optional terminal block versions of the U2355A (U2901A or U2902A) make it easy to wire field connections. If you require a way to create pre-defined or arbitrary waveforms as part of your stimulus response sequence, then the U2355A is well-suited for this type of application, such as sensor excitation and component characterization in a manufacturing setting.
Another area that is enhanced with the U2355A is software flexibility. The Multifunction Data Acquisition works with all of these popular programming platforms: Keysight VEE, MATLAB R2007a, NI LabVIEW, and Microsoft Visual Studio. Also, the U2355A complies with the USBTMC-USB488 standard so you can plug and play with all Microsoft Windows-based operating systems. Regardless if you need to count pulses from an encoder, acquire temperature from several thermocouples, or coordinate a closed-loop setup, the Keysight/Agilent U2355A gives you the best combination of analog input density, waveform generation capability, and digital control capability in one small USB footprint.
