Keysight/Agilent U2751A USB Modular Switch Matrix
The U2751A from Keysight (formerly from Agilent) is a 4x8 two-wire USB modular switch matrix that is designed for use in automated test systems. It has 32 two-wire crosspoints configured as four rows by eight columns. Therefore, the user may select any number of the rows and columns to be connected simultaneously. The U2751A contains the switch matrix circuitry, a high-speed USB 2.0 interface (plug-and-play), and BenchVue software, which has a command logger and a code converter. The code converter will convert the logged commands to VEE, VB, C++, and C# code snippet formats, therefore significantly decreasing the amount of time required to program the switch matrix. The U2751A is available as either a stand-alone module or as part of the U2781A USB Modular Product Chassis. Additionally, the U2751A provides the capability to expand the system using additional Keysight products such as additional Keysight USB modular instruments or data acquisition modules.
Industrial automation engineers are able to use the U2751A to connect test signals from one or many devices under test to multiple instruments and/or multiple points on each device without manually reconfiguring the connections. Some examples of typical applications include automated functional testing, production line validation, and laboratory measurements. Since high channel density and signal integrity are critical elements of these types of tests, the Modular Switch Matrix provides high channel density (32 crosspoints), low crosstalk (less than -40 dBc), and a maximum bandwidth of 45 MHz when the terminal block is not installed. A relay cycle counter tracks how many times the switches have been activated, thus providing a way to predictively maintain the switches and minimize unanticipated downtime. The U2751A adheres to all USBTMC-USB488 and SCPI standards and can integrate into Keysight VEE, NI LabVIEW, and Microsoft Visual Studio via IVI-COM drivers.
