Spirent XCG Subsystem with Switch Option Module
The Spirent XCG Subsystem with Switch Option Module is a high-performance solution for analog exchange within the Abacus 5000 series designed to emulate traditional analog exchanges. Because it's engineered to support analog call generation and switching, this emulates the Central Office side of the analog 2-wire circuits through 14 FXS ports, with each one serving as a channel of communication. These channels can be either originating or terminating lines, depending upon the setup, for testing flexibility for the North American, European, and international analog 2-wire interfaces.
The XCG Subsystem with Switch Option Module is highly optimized for analog, PSTN, and IP telephony convergence applications. It serves best a variety of functional and performance testing needs: the evaluation of voice gateways, T.30 fax, and V.34 analog data modem functionality. It provides an integrated, smooth interface for simultaneous testing of both the analog and VoIP networks, therefore allowing effective testing for PBXs, central offices, voicemail systems, and other communication systems. The XCG is particularly fit for FTTP, PON, and VoIP applications; ONT-FXS port testing; and ONT-OLT one-way delay assessments—thus, quite adaptable in modern telecommunication settings.
The subsystem boasts programmable protocol state machines, impedance settings, and analog gains and enables major analog functionalities such as ring voltage, -48 VDC, and dial tone. Supporting upwards of over 20,000 calls an hour, the XCG Subsystem offers all-round high volume call throughput with comprehensive switching options. It supports all the basic call management features, such as pulse dialing detection, battery reversal, caller ID, metering pulse generation, driven by a strong 32-bit processor with a DSP architecture. Its back-end cards, namely the XCI3 and XCI3RJ, have an integrated ring generator to support accurate voice quality and echo measurements.
The Switch Option Module XCG Subsystem automates the process of collecting and displaying results through graphical or tabular formats for ease in performance analysis. This includes load profiling, analog call trace diagrams, and MOS scoring of voice quality, all in one package that can conform to country-specific impedance requirements and programmable tone specifications. With its strong test capabilities, it offers comprehensive analog and VoIP verification to ensure that connectivity, voice quality, and analog call handling meet today's strict standards in networked communication systems.
