Rohde & Schwarz CMA180 Radio Test Set
The Rohde & Schwarz CMA180 is a complete radio communications tester that provides a flexible and powerful solution for the validation and troubleshooting of analog and digital radio systems that operate between 100 kHz to 3 GHz. The CMA180 incorporates an RF signal generator, spectrum analyzer, audio analyzer, and power meter all on one benchtop device making it easier to take the measurements needed during the testing and maintenance phase of both development and production operations. The Radio Test Set is also very easy to use thanks to its modern advanced user friendly touch screen display allowing users to easily access all the measurement functions they need to make transmitter and receiver measurements quickly and efficiently.
The Rohde & Schwarz CMA180 is equipped with a number of measurement functions to support analog modulation and demodulation (AM, FM, SSB) as well as digital signal analysis using optional software packages (R&S VSE). Some of the key measurement functions include; a sweeping spectrum analyzer with tracking generator, oscilloscope, arbitrary waveform generator for generating customized waveforms for simulating real-world signals, and a built-in interferer for measuring receiver selectivity. Additionally, the CMA180 has been designed to provide maximum versatility by supporting input powers of up to 150 W as well as being able to generate signals at levels down to -140 dBm for testing receivers that are very sensitive to interference. In addition to providing the option for AC, DC power input, the Rohde & Schwarz CMA180 also comes with an optional battery pack for use in field-based testing where portability is essential.
This Radio Test Set is commonly used within industrial automation, field service, and manufacturing test environments for testing and calibration of a variety of radiocommunications equipment such as land mobile radios, avionics systems including ILS/VOR, and software-defined radios. Due to its ability to be controlled remotely via LAN or GPIB, as well as automation software packages (R&S CMArun), the Rohde & Schwarz CMA180 can seamlessly integrate into automated test systems. The set's connectivity enables it to connect to a wide range of other test equipment, sensors, and control relays, making it a critical component of many complex test stands to ensure the performance and regulatory compliance of wireless communication devices.
