Spirent TAS5048 Test Configuration Unit
The Spirent TAS5048 is the integrated unit of the Spirent's PLTS, the CDMA Position Location Test System. This unit plays an important role in RF testing, managing and dynamically switching RF connections during testing to ascertain performance for location-capable CDMA devices under a variety of conditions. It forms a high-accuracy RF connection between a device under test and other testing system components, such as the AirAccess C2K CDMA Network Emulator and the GSS5060 GPS Location Simulator. By automating the switching of RF paths, it simplifies complex test setups with calibrated signal levels directly at the antenna ports of a device under test, ensuring controlled and repeatable testing of single or dual-test port devices.
The TAS5048 is designed to work with Spirent's network emulation instruments and provides full automation via software-controlled configuration. Because it is fully integrated with the UDM software, users can completely remotely control and monitor mobiles for a closed-loop process. Dynamic reconfigurability in support allows the TAS5048 to optimize test workflow for improvements in efficiency and accuracy at test. Compatibility of the unit with advanced simulation and diagnostic tools supports well the study of various influences of network conditions, GPS signals, and RF impairments on performance.
