It is designed to simulate most of the physical line conditions that any DSL technology might encounter, ensuring equipment will perform in a reliable manner in real-world applications. Equipped with this tester, the manufacturer can validate performance metrics such as insertion and return loss by emulating the signal behavior of twisted copper wires over configurable lengths. Featuring multiple channels, the DLS-6300 efficiently tests multiple lines at one time, smoothing the production process for DSL modems, routers, and other CPE devices.
This system can be adapted to work with a variety of DSL standards, hence making it fitting for testing ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+, VDSL, and VDSL2 technologies in deployment within consumer and enterprise networking equipment. Equipped with the powerful configuration of the DLS-6300, manufacturers can define loop lengths and characteristics with great precision, and even realistically simulate distances of several thousand meters. Fabricated from stiff industrial standards, the modular design of the DLS-6300 accepts high-volume production demands without compromising accuracy and reliability. It includes all the necessary hardware items: an AC-to-DC power adapter, a standard RS-232 communication cable for easy setup, and Spirent's control application on CD for easy configuration and management. Passive components in the DLS-6300 are selected with great care to ensure repetition of test results-a feature indispensable for maintaining product quality across production runs.
This tester also includes, on the front panel, LED indicators to monitor power and communication status for real-time visibility of the unit's operational state. The power source for the device is external for safety and performance reasons, providing electrical isolation in accordance with industry safety standards.
