Spirent DLS-5402DC Dual Output Noise Injector Generator
The Spirent DLS-5402DC Dual Output Noise Injector Generator is specifically designed for the purpose of injecting controlled noise impairments onto xDSL lines. Designed for seamless interface with the Spirent DLS 5204 xDSL Noise Generator, this product provides users with the capability to simulate real-world conditions by introducing differential and common mode noise onto the test lines. It was designed for performance, conformance, and interoperability tests that are essential for any telecommunication operator, any equipment manufacturer, and any laboratory willing to characterize xDSL modems and DSLAMs under realistic network conditions.
The DLS-5402DC includes a high-performance differential and common mode noise injection system, allowing for up to four independent outputs with flexible noise generation. Application impairment profiles include white noise, crosstalk, RFI, impulse noise, and other typical disturbances in DSL environments. This will provide a noise crest factor of more than 5, meeting standards such as ANSI, ETSI, and ITU-T for accurate test conditions reflecting real-world interference.
The DLS-5402DC comes with Ethernet connectivity and hence enables remote operation via an easy-to-use Windows-based GUI, making it easy to integrate into automated test environments. Noise profiles can be simply chosen from the DLS 5Bxx library of pre-packaged ones or users can create their own specific profiles to customize their testing scenarios. The unit is designed to operate across a wide range of frequencies from 4 kHz to 2.208 MHz in differential mode noise and from 100 kHz to 1.9 MHz in common-mode noise. The high dynamic range, along with the low spurious noise floor over this vast frequency range, enables the precise replication of interference across DSL test setups.
For both laboratory and production testing, the DLS-5402DC covers all the most common xDSL standards: ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+, VDSL, ISDN, HDSL, SHDSL, and SDSL for comprehensive testing of today's modern broadband systems. This level of control and accuracy will permit the engineer to fully have confidence in deployed equipment performance in real-world conditions under a wide range of interference scenarios.
