VIAVI HST-3000 Datacom Service Interface Module
The VIAVI HST-3000 is a service interface module that is designed for comprehensive datacom and E1 testing. The module supports X.21 and V.24 RS-232 along with V.35 and V.36 RS-449 interfaces. It also includes full EIA-530 functionality for structured service verification. The interface module conducts G.703 2 Mbit/s testing with dual E1 receivers and transmitters. It supports bulk and n x 64 kbit/s BERT patterns for controlled assessment. It processes G.821 and G.826 metrics along with full M.2100 agreement. The HST-3000 measures signal level and frequency with precise resolution to ensure link stability. It monitors pulse shape integrity for accurate line code analysis. The module evaluates frequency offset within ±100 ppm in 1 ppm intervals. This performance ensures reliable operation when handling HDB3 or AMI encoded signals.
The module supports signal loss tracking including bit slips and rate deviations across active channels. It reports TX and RX bit rates with stable clock reference options. The HST-3000 uses internal or recoveFred clock sources or external E1 reference inputs. The Datacom service interface module provides balanced RJ-48 interfaces with 120 ohm impedance for G.703 connectivity. It also supports unbalanced 75 ohm operation through compatible adapter cables. The module manages 2048 kbit/s bit rate with ±3 ppm tolerance and +1 ppm per year aging.
The receiver section uses balanced RJ-48 inputs with selectable 120 ohm or high impedance modes. It accepts unbalanced 75 ohm signals through suitable adapters. The HST-3000 supports PMP compensation to stabilize received waveforms and processes FAS and MFAS structures with single or multi frame configurations. The module detects MF AIS and MF RDI conditions on time slot-16. The anomaly reporting engine counts bit errors and code violations across monitored services. It also records FAS and MFAS errors along with CRC and E-bit anomalies. The HST-3000 captures Sa4 through Sa8 channel data and NFAS indicators. The BERT engine measures error seconds and error free seconds under continuous load. It calculates bit error rate and percentage error free seconds for service qualification. The VIAVI HST-3000 measures pattern slip and pattern loss seconds with round trip delay.
