Keysight/Agilent 89606A Baseband Input Module
The Keysight/Agilent 89606A is a Baseband Input Module for the Agilent 89600 Vector Signal Analyzer system. The model is a single-slot C-Size VXI module measuring 6U by 340 mm, and it may also be found paired with the manufacturer HP. The model pairs with the E1438 ADC module to digitize incoming baseband signals. It connects to the host computer through an IEEE 1394 FireWire interconnect link. The input module covers a baseband frequency range extending from DC up to 40 MHz. The frequency tuning resolution on the module reaches as fine as 1 mHz per step. The single channel frequency span runs from under 1 Hz up to 39.06 MHz. The frequency accuracy on the module starts at 100 ppb when initially set. The aging adds near 100 ppb per year while temperature drift stays within 50 ppb total.
The phase noise at a 10 MHz signal with 100 Hz offset stays below - 108 dBc. Beyond a 1 kHz offset, the phase noise on the module drops below - 118 dBc. The 89606A accepts a full scale range from - 31 dBm to + 20 dBm in 3 dB steps. The maximum safe input level on the baseband input module is rated at + 24 dBm. The module ships with one standard baseband input channel as the default configuration. The nominal input impedance is 50 ohms delivered through a single BNC connector supporting AC or DC coupling. The input VSWR across all amplitude ranges is held to a 1.33 to 1 ratio overall.
The absolute full scale accuracy of the Agilent 89606A Baseband Input Module across the operating temperature range reaches ± 0.8 dB. The amplitude linearity on the module ranges from 0.10 dB to 0.20 dB across its dBfs levels. The dynamic range specifications for the module include intermodulation harmonic and spurious distortion all held below - 68 dBc. The phase linearity on the model shows group delay deviation near ± 2 ns. The resolution bandwidth in vector signal analyzer mode spans from under 1 Hz to 10 MHz. The module digitizes signals using a 12-bit ADC running near 95 megasamples per second. The input module therefore supports precise wideband baseband signal analysis.
