Keysight/Agilent E1300A B-Size VXI Mainframe
The E1300A from Keysight (formerly from Agilent) is a B Size VXI Mainframe designed for industrial test and measurement environments. It features nine total slots including seven external slots and two reserved internal slots. The two internal slots are designated exclusively for the E1326B internal digital multimeter module. Three additional external A size slots provide further expansion capacity for instrument module installation. The B-Size Mainframe stands 177 mm tall without bottom feet and 189 mm with bottom feet installed. Its chassis width measures 426 mm and the standard depth measures 510 mm for rack use. The total depth increases to 569 mm when terminal blocks are fitted to the rear panel. The unit weighs 7.4 kg making it practical for bench top and rack mount installations.
The E1300A mainframe is built on a VME/VXI P1 only backplane designed for standardized modular system architecture. A solid state automatic daisy chain system handles jumpering for VMEbus grant and interrupt acknowledge lines. The design streamlines integration and reduces setup time in complex automated test environments. The cooling air and power input for the mainframe are routed through the right side. The exhaust air is directed out through the left side for consistent internal airflow management. This side specific airflow layout supports reliable and consistent thermal performance in rack mounted deployments.
The power supply within the Keysight/Agilent mainframe provides three regulated DC output voltage rails. The + 5 V rail delivers a peak current of 12.2 A to support digital instrument modules. The + 12 V rail provides 4.6 A and the – 12 V rail provides 0.9 A for analog circuits. The combined power output is capped at 120 W maximum at an operating temperature of 40 °C. Every power output in the E1300A is protected against over temperature and over voltage conditions. The over current and short to ground protections are applied as standard across all three output rails. The AC input voltage ranges from 115 Vac to 230 Vac for use across global power standards. The acceptable input frequency range extends from 50 Hz to 400 Hz for broad compatibility.
