Keysight/Agilent E1346A 48-Channel Single-Ended Relay Multiplexer
The Keysight/Agilent E1346A is a 48 Channel Single Ended Relay Multiplexer for precision signal switching in test systems. It delivers signal multiplexing across 48 individually addressed channels numbered sequentially from channel 00 to 47. Each individual channel on the multiplexer switches only the High (H) connection during measurement operations. The Low (L) and Guard (G) connections are held common and are shared uniformly across all channels. The relay multiplexer is constrained to closing only one channel at a time. The module is physically structured around a component assembly and a dedicated field wiring terminal block for connections. The channel relay switches are housed and operated entirely within the component assembly section of the module. The field wiring from user sources connects directly to the terminal block for signal measurement integration.
The terminal block of the Keysight/Agilent relay multiplexer supports multimeters, voltmeters counters and other external measuring devices. The maximum allowable terminal to terminal voltage on this module is 120 V DC or AC RMS with 170 V peak. The terminal to chassis voltage specification also stands at 120 V DC or AC RMS with a 170 V peak. The maximum channel current on the model is rated at 50 mA for non inductive load configurations only. The maximum power per channel for the E1346A is rated at 1 VA total. The thermal offset per channel on this module is controlled to remain below 50 μV measured as differential H-L. The closed channel resistance for the multiplexer is 100 Ω ± 10 % which is the value of protection resistors. The insulation resistance between any two points on the model exceeds 10? Ω at 40 °C and 65 % RH.
The relay life of the relay multiplexer is measured at 10? operations when tested under no load conditions. Under rated load conditions, the relay life specification for the model stands at 10? minimum operations. The -3 dB bandwidth for the model with protection resistors shorted is specified at a minimum of 10 MHz. This bandwidth figure is measured with source and load impedances both set equal to 50 Ω.
