Keysight/Agilent E1369A Microwave Switch Driver
The Keysight E1369A Microwave Switch Driver module is a VXI-compatible module for precise RF signal routing. The structure is the same as the E1368A module. It has three precision cutouts and multiple mounting holes to accept field-installed switches on its front panel. The module can be configured by the user with up to 3 coaxial 3-port, 4-port, or 5-port switches.
The E1369A supports coaxial switches with a maximum drive level of 42 Vpk. The internal drive voltage can be programmed at +5 Vdc or +12 Vdc depending on the switch installed. The external drive voltage can reach 42 Vpk, which can be used for external switches mounted on the module panel. This internal voltage flexibility enables support of low- and high-drive-level switch installations by the driver.
The Keysight E1369A delivers a driver output voltage of either 5 V or 12 V per switch. The maximum energizing voltage at each driver output is rated at 42 Vpk under standard operating conditions. A specified switching dwell time of 35 milliseconds guarantees stable actuation during every switching event. This dwell time specification is critical for ensuring reliable switch state transitions across automated test sequences.
The power consumption for the E1369A Microwave Switch Driver is specified at 0.50 watts per slot within the VXI mainframe chassis. The peak module current draw is rated at 0.01 A from the +5 V mainframe supply rail. The cooling is maintained at 0.08 mm H?O differential pressure with a minimum airflow of 0.05 liters per second.
The Keysight Switch Driver is rated to operate between 0°C and +55°C ambient temperature. The storage temperature limits for the driver range from –40°C to +75°C when it is non-operational. The humidity tolerance for the model is rated at 65% relative humidity across the temperature range of 0°C to 40°C. The switch driver is engineered to integrate seamlessly within the VXI modular instrument standard. Its flexible panel design allows test engineers to configure internal switch combinations as required.
