Keysight/Agilent E1418A 8/16-Channel D/A Converter
The Keysight E1418A (formerly from Agilent) is a C size 1 slot register based VXI digital to analog converter module. The converter delivers an output amplitude of ± 16 V at 16 bit resolution in voltage mode. The resolution equates to 488 μV steps with monotonic performance guaranteed to a threshold of 2.0 mV. The DC amplitude accuracy over a 90 day period is specified at ± (0.05% + 3.0 mV). The short circuit current is rated below 60 mA and compliance current exceeds 20 mA between 0 and ± 12 V. The compliance current de rates linearly from 20 mA at ± 12 V to 5 mA at ± 16 V. The voltage mode differential ripple and noise is below 2 mV rms into a 10 kΩ load. The D/A Converter provides a full bipolar output range spanning 0 to ± 20.00 mA in current mode. The current mode resolution is 16-bit at 610 nA steps with monotonic performance assured to 25 μA.
The current output accuracy for the converter over a 90 day interval is specified at ± (0.09% + 5.0 μA). The current mode compliance voltage is ± 12 V and maximum open circuit voltage remains below 18 V. The current mode differential ripple and noise is below 2 μA rms measured into a 250 Ω load. The channel to channel and channel to chassis isolation is rated at 42 Vdc/ac peak on all configurations. The synchronization on the E1418A from Keysight/Agilent is available via software commands, external trigger inputs or TTL backplane trigger lines. The calibration of the model is done without any physical removal and is done entirely in software. The full calibration process is completed by the software used with the terminal block CALBUS and a 5.5 digit multimeter.
The converter achieves a full scale step settling time of 300 μs per channel to rated accuracy. It delivers precise configurable analog output performance in a compact single-slot VXI form factor. The model offers up to 8 or 16 completely independent channels which can be set up as separate or common 16 bit D/As per channel.
