Keysight/Agilent E1473A 50 Ohm RF Multiplexer Expander
The E1473A from Keysight/Agilent is a Six 1 x 4 50 Ohm RF Multiplexer Expander built for VXI based industrial test systems. It is configured as a C size 1 slot register based VXI module offering high density signal routing capability. The expander handles a maximum input voltage of 42 V across center or shield to center and shield to chassis configurations. The maximum current per channel or common is rated at 1 A for both DC and AC rms operation. The maximum power capacity per channel or common reaches 24 W DC and 24 VA AC rms.
The RF Multiplexer Expander maintains a maximum thermal offset of 6 μV for precision measurement integrity. The closed channel resistance is typically below 1 Ohm in its initial operating state. The insulation resistance between any two terminals exceeds 108 Ohms at temperatures up to 40 °C and 65 % RH. These DC characteristics collectively ensure stable and precise performance during high frequency signal routing operations. The multiplexer expander provides a characteristic impedance of 50 Ohms with well defined AC performance across its operating range. The insertion loss stays below 0.1 dB at 10 MHz and remains under 0.9 dB at 500 MHz. At 1.3 GHz, the insertion loss is held below 1.5 dB through the measurement path. The typical insertion loss at 3 GHz does not exceed 8.0 dB under standard reference conditions.
The VSWR performance of the Keysight/Agilent E1473A expander is measured below 1.05 at frequencies under 10 MHz. At 100 MHz, the VSWR is below 1.15 and reaches up to 1.35 at 500 MHz. The VSWR is maintained within 1.5 at 1.3 GHz that ensures controlled impedance matching across the frequency range. The signal risetime is rated at less than 300 ps with a signal delay below 3 ns. The channel to channel crosstalk for the model is rated below − 90 dB at frequencies under 10 MHz. At frequencies up to 100 MHz, this crosstalk remains below −80 dB between adjacent channels.
