Agilent/HP E4208D VXI SCSI Disk Module
The Agilent/HP E4208D SCSI Disk Module is a VXI module that provides a 4 GB hard disk. It includes a 1.44 MB floppy disk drive and occupies one C-size VXI slot. The module installs in VXI mainframe systems and can be daisy chained with other SCSI devices. In Broadband Series Test Systems, the hard disk has HP-UX preinstalled and about 1.9 GB of user space. The floppy drive reads and writes standard 3.5 inch disks in UNIX or DOS format. It supports software installation and file backup and restore plus data exchange between systems. The front panel LEDs of the module indicate hard drive and floppy drive activity during reads and writes. The VXI SCSI Disk Module includes an active terminator plug AMP 750381-1 for terminating the last SCSI device.
It is compatible with HP 9000 Series 700 host computers and controllers offering SCSI or SCSI-2 interfaces. The default settings assign SCSI device ID 0 to the floppy drive and ID 6 to the hard drive. The module is an A16 D16 slave device with default VXI logical address 10 hex. It uses backplane connectors P1 and P2 and has no local bus connection. The module weighs 1.9 kg or 4.2 lb and has no VXI or module keying. The 5 V supply of the E4208D VXI SCSI Disk Module draws 0.9 A DC and 0.9 A dynamic current. The 12 V supply draws 0.6 A DC and 1.2 A dynamic current. The safety conditions are Installation Category I and Pollution Degree 2 at altitudes below 2000 m. The operating temperature for the module is 5 to 45 °C and storage temperature is -40 to 60 °C. The operating relative humidity is 20 % to 80 % at 30 °C and 80 % at 45 °C non condensing. The non operating relative humidity is 5 % to 90 % at 40 °C with no condensation.
The Agilent/HP E4208D's floppy operates only within 25 degrees of vertical or horizontal with the Agilent logo to the right. The cooling requirements are 1.5 l/s at 0.25 mm H2O for a 10 °C temperature rise. The shock ratings are 5 G operating and 40 G non-operating for 11 ms half sine pulses.
