Keysight/Agilent E6234A VXI Pentium® PC Controller
The E6234A from Keysight/Agilent is a VXI Pentium® PC Controller designed specifically for industrial test and measurement applications. It operates at 166 MHz and supports main memory configurations from 32 MB to 128 MB. The model integrates embedded computing and instrument control capabilities within a compact VXI compatible platform architecture. It is engineered to support automated test systems requiring reliable high performance embedded processing over extended operation. The controller includes a broad set of built in interfaces that enable comprehensive system connectivity. The two PS-2 ports and an SVGA output equipped with 2 MB Video RAM are integrated into the unit. The controller provides built in RS-232, LAN, GPIB, ECP Parallel, SCSI-2 and USB ports for peripheral connectivity. The trigger I/O and Clock I/O ports are also built in to support precise timing synchronization across test systems.
The VXI Pentium® PC Controller also supports additional interfaces including GPIB, 2-channel RS-232 and thick/thin LAN. One EXM expansion slot is provided for further hardware configuration and integration within larger VXI system builds. The color graphics output is supported at four resolutions ranging up to a maximum of 1280 x 1024 pixels. The internal mass storage is provided through a 2.16 GB hard drive combined with a 3.5 inch floppy drive. The model supports Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 as the earliest compatible operating system environments. This enables the controller to function within established industrial software environments and legacy test automation frameworks. The unit operates within an ambient temperature range of 5 to 45 °C under standard conditions. Above 6600 ft (2000 m), the temperature rating is derated by 2 °C per 1000 ft of altitude.
The E6234A VXI Pentium® PC Controller is built to withstand demanding mechanical and environmental operating conditions. The operating shock is rated at 30 g over an 11 ms duration using a half sine pulse profile. The non operating shock tolerance increases to 50 g over 11 ms under the same half sine pulse profile. The operating vibration tolerance for the controller is rated at 2.5 g over a 5 to 300 Hz range.
