Keysight/Agilent E8482A RF Multiplexer
The E8482A RF Multiplexer from Keysight functions as a VXI switching module. It provides 6 independent 1x4 routing matrices for automated RF measurement systems operation. The unit has 50-ohm impedance and supports signals up to 3 GHz. It ensures low insertion loss below one GHz operation. The insertion loss remains below 0.6 dB up to the one GHz frequency range.
The unit includes SMB male connectors for high-performance routing. The SMB connectors maintain signal integrity for microwave frequency switching applications within automated test environments. The module supports a maximum 30 V DC input rating. It handles 30 V AC peak voltage for controlled signal routing protection design. It delivers a maximum 0.5 A channel current capacity.
The E8482A radio frequency multiplexer uses tree switching to achieve high isolation. Tree switching architecture is a better way to achieve channel separation for VXI systems over multiple RF paths. The unit has a closed channel resistance of less than one ohm switching. It provides insulation resistance of greater than one million ohms humidity. It also functions with non-latching relay architecture for switching operations.
The module is configured as a slave in the VXI A16 register. It draws minimal current on 5-volt and 12-volt supply rails, making it VXI-compatible. The RF Multiplexer E8482A is firmware upgradeable via the command module interface. It also offers low thermal offset precision measurement down to 10 microvolts. It is suitable for VXI-based RF switching systems.
The E8482A supports expander modules for extended RF signal routing applications. The remote expander cables can reach a maximum distance of 8 meters with stable communication performance during switching operations. The design guarantees reliable operation in RF switching automation. The unit is not panel driver or VXI plug-and-play Win Framework compatible. It allows for the integration of automated measurement environments with VXIplug and play Win95 and NT Framework. The module is not compatible with Play HP UX Framework systems.
The channel-to-channel crosstalk remains below -60 dB under 500 MHz operating conditions. This performance helps to increase the signal isolation between RF switching paths in VXI test systems.
