The Anritsu S331E is a portable cable and antenna analyzer intended for wireless communications engineers who need precision, effectiveness, and mobility when testing in the field. With reliability built in for demanding applications, this compact instrument delivers cable and antenna analysis along with an onboard 4 GHz spectrum analyzer, delivering full diagnostic capability in one tough package. Operating from 2 MHz to 4 GHz, the S331E measures return loss, cable loss, VSWR, and distance-to-fault with great precision using frequency domain reflectometry, so that faulty situations are identified before they lead to costly failures.
As an application-grade instrument, the S331E is extremely rugged and splash-resistant and operates within -10° to 55°C temperature range that can withstand diversified outdoor environments. Lightweight and weighing less than six pounds with a field-swappable Li-Ion battery to provide over four hours of service, it's easily transported about for on-site repair. Its 8.4-inch color high-brightness screen gives it clear images in direct sunlight as well as allowing technicians to work effectively without the need to watch surrounding light levels.
The S331E features advanced calibration techniques, including InstaCal and traditional Open-Short-Load calibration, that reduce setup time significantly without compromising accuracy. It features dual display, allowing simultaneous viewing of multiple measurements for increased productivity in high-speed environments. A built-in 32V bias tee facilitates two-port transmission measurements without an external power source, adding to the instrument's flexibility.
Moreover, the internal 4 GHz spectrum analyzer features a dynamic range of over 95 dB and an available noise floor of as low as -152 dBm in a 10 Hz resolution bandwidth for detection of the weakest signals. Other capabilities such as GPS tagging provide precise location and time information for all measurements, and an intuitive interface with familiar menu structures facilitates easy operation.
