Anritsu MS4647B Vector Network Analyzer
Anritsu's MS4647B Vector Network Analyzer is a sophisticated measurement instrument designed for the precision measurement of microwave and millimeter-wave devices. The VNA operates over the frequency range from 10 MHz to 70 GHz via V(m) connector test ports and features a built-in source, test set, and analyzer for providing real-time S-parameter measurement. The system supports up to 25,000 points with the use of 16 channels or up to 100,000 points when operated in single-channel mode, with every trace having the capability to accommodate 12 standard as well as one reference marker for detailed analysis.
The MS4647B offers a touchscreen display with multiple control possibilities, including front panel keys, USB peripherals, Ethernet, GPIB, or USB LAN, for flexible operation. Remote programming is possible, although the front panel keys are locked out during remote control sessions. Calibration accuracy is ensured using AutoCal modules for single-connection calibrations, in addition to mechanical kits for SMA, K, and V connectors. In addition, verification kits with NIST-traceable components are used to verify the system's performance.
The analyzer has the Spectrum Analyzer Option (SPA), which increases its range up to 220 GHz on standard configurations and up to 1.1 THz on banded configurations. The dual SPA mode supports the measurement of mixers, amplifiers, and harmonics with configurable port assignments and detection modes, including min/max hold, RMS, and peak. In addition, the dual-source units' phase synchronization and receiver-side attenuators, available with Option 62, add more flexibility when measuring high-power devices. Its advanced software capabilities include Universal Fixture Extraction (UFX), the de-embedding of fixtures, IMDView for the measurement of intermodulation distortion, and PulseView, with pulse measurement resolution to 2.5 ns.
Featuring up to as wide as a dynamic range of 142 dB and as much as +14 dBm output power, the MS4647B delivers premium performance on demanding applications such as measurement of antennas, filtering design, and testing of optoelectronic components. Time Domain measurement, combined with differential view balanced measurement and internal eye diagram creation, forms the building block for full-device analysis. Included is the calibration of optoelectronics up to 110 GHz with the MN4765B module for 850–1550 nm wavelength applications.
Optimally suited for production and research and development environments, the Anritsu MS4647B combines wide-range frequencies, high measurement accuracy, and plug-in software utility to address challenging measurement issues in the aerospace, communications, and semiconductor industries.
