Keysight E5063A Vector Network Analyzer
The Keysight E5063A ENA Series Vector Network Analyzer is a benchtop analyzer designed in particular to perform frequency characterization for passive devices and ranges from 100 kHz to 18 GHz in frequency range depending on configuration chosen. With eight adjustable upper frequency points at 500 MHz, 1.5 GHz, 3 GHz, 4.5 GHz, 6.5 GHz, 8.5 GHz, 14 GHz, or 18 GHz, the instrument provides an affordable way to adjust to future testing needs. The instrument includes an internal 50 Ω 2-port test set with internal connection to 50 Ω to measure antennas, filters, cables and connectors, PCB impedance, wireless power transfer resonators, and dielectric material. Calibration options provided such as 85032F (Type-N), 85033E (3.5 mm), and 85052D (3.5 mm) and electronic modules 85092C and N4691B ensure the measurement to take place in specified environmental conditions especially at the temperature of 23°C ±5°C with a 1°C maximum permitted deviation in the calibration.
The E5063A offers better system performance with dynamic ranges of up to 117 dB (100 MHz–4.34 GHz, 10 Hz IF bandwidth) and trace noise as low as 2 mdB rms for transmission measurements. Uncorrected directivity ranges between 10 dB and 25 dB, depending on the frequency. Other additions include time domain analysis (Option 010) for fault finding and a special graphical interface (Option 011) optimized for effective PCB testing. Measurement stability is provided by ±0.01 dB/°C magnitude and ±0.2 deg/°C phase variations in controlled environments.
Built for speed, the E5063A analyzer provides high measurement throughput with 4 ms or less cycle times for 1-port calibrations at 300 kHz IF bandwidth. It offers up to 10,001 data points per trace and various IF bandwidth settings (3 kHz to 10 Hz) to trade off speed and noise performance. USB, LAN, GPIB, and DisplayPort interfaces are available for integration into automated systems. The 11.8 kg, compact instrument is designed to work from +5°C to +40°C, with an easy-to-use 10.4-inch multi-touch display. Upgradeability and compatibility with Keysight's ENA framework support future technology needs, while its adaptability makes it well-suited for R&D and manufacturing setups in need of reproducible RF component testing.
