Keysight/Agilent P5008A Streamline USB Vector Network Analyzer
The Keysight P5008A USB Vector Network Analyzer functions as a two-port unit by operating across a frequency range of 100 kHz to 53 GHz. The instrument connects to a host computer through a USB 3.0 cable assembly. The P5008A VNA requires no integrated display and relies entirely on an external computer for instrument control. The unit is built for precision RF and microwave signal measurement in various test environments.
The dynamic range of the unit reaches 101 dB across its full operating frequency span of 100 kHz to 53 GHz. The harmonic distortion performance is specified at -17 dBc, maintaining a clean signal output throughout operation. The rackmount-compatible housing of the unit allows straightforward installation within structured test rack configurations. The available interface types make the unit compatible with both manual benchtop and automated test system setups.
The noise floor of the unit is rated at -113 dBm for accurate detection of low-level signals during measurement. The output power is -12 dBm, and the power sweep range runs from -50 dBm to -12 dBm for appropriate working. The measurement ports on the vector network analyzer further use 1.85 mm female connectors along with an MCX reference connector. The port impedance across both channels is fixed at 50 Ohms throughout the full frequency range.
The 1.85 mm connector format maintains signal integrity at the upper frequency limit of 53 GHz. The connector specification prevents impedance discontinuities during millimeter-wave frequency measurements. The unit operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius. It is classified as a USB/computer-controlled instrument and depends on a host system for all measurement functions. The instrument chassis carries no front panel controls or integrated display of any kind. The unit is operated through Keysight PathWave VNA software or any compatible SCPI-based automation platform.
The P5008A USB VNA is equipped with multiple interfaces such as USB, GPIB, Ethernet/LAN, and RS-232 for flexible connectivity. The unit also draws power from an external AC-DC adapter with a standard power cord included with it. It is highly required in antenna testing.
