Aeroflex IFR-303-100-101 Wideband RF Digitizer
The Aeroflex IFR-303-100-101 is a PXI based modular instrument, that serves as an RF digitizer, a key component of automated test systems used for advanced signal analysis. As part of the 3030 series it has been designed to capture RF signals at very high frequencies and translate them into digital I and Q or IF data streams with a high degree of precision. It has been specifically designed to work in conjunction with a companion PXI RF Synthesizer Module and utilizes the PXI Studio Application Software to provide the ability to perform complete Vector Signal Analysis; this combination of the RF Digitizer and Synthesizer Modules is necessary for both development and high-volume manufacturing test systems for modern wireless communication technologies.
The RF Digitizer Module captures signals over a wide bandwidth, allowing for the analysis of complex modulated signals that are present in WLAN, WiMAX, and cellular standards 2G through 4G. It also offers high dynamic range and excellent level accuracy; these two characteristics are important for making demanding measurements such as ACLR (Adjacent Channel Leakage Ratio) and Spectral Mask Compliance. The modules' design allows for flexibility in how the data is handled; block samples of data can be transferred via the PCI bus, or the data can be continuously streamed out to a front panel LVDS interface for applications where there is a need for continuous data flow, i.e., system emulation.
Some of the key operational features of the Aeroflex IFR-303-100-101 include the ability to operate in multiple trigger modes to allow for synchronized measurements and a list mode, which will store up to 128 different frequency and level settings; this allows for extremely fast switching between test steps in production environments. The Spectrum Analyzer Plug-in, which is built into the module, includes essential frequency and time-domain analysis functions such as channel power, occupied bandwidth, and spectrum monitoring. With the use of the PXI Platform, the Aeroflex IFR-303-100-101 provides a compact, scalable, and cost-effective solution for creating dense, high-performance RF test systems that can replace larger traditional benchtop instruments without sacrificing measurement integrity or speed.
