Keysight/Agilent M9537A AXIe High Performance Embedded Controller
The M9537A from Keysight/Agilent is one single-slot AXIe embedded controller that incorporates a 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7-6820EQ quad-core processor with hyper-threading, which allows for eight concurrent threads to be executed in parallel for high-performance test & automation applications. The embedded controller has a default memory configuration of 8GB DDR4-2133 RAM with one available SODIMM slot to expand to 32GB. The embedded controller also includes a front-accessible/removable 240GB Solid-State Drive (SSD) to provide fast boot times as well as securely store critical application data. For faster measurement data streaming, an optional NVMe cache drive can be connected using an x4 PCIe Gen 3 interface, providing up to 2200 MB/sec sequential read performance. The embedded controller provides four USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, two Gigabit LAN ports, three 4K DisplayPort 1.2 outputs, and a GPIB port to connect legacy instruments with modern peripherals via the front-panel connections.
The M9537A connects to the AXIe Backplane via a Gen 3 x16 PCIe link and can provide up to 16GB/s bandwidth for high-speed acquisition and processing. In addition, the AXIe embedded controller also supports Wide PCIe Fabric and Legacy X4 Gen 2 Fabrics for chassis flexibility. The Intel HD Graphics built into the processor support up to three independent 4K monitors for demanding visualization applications in manufacturing test and condition monitoring. Additionally, there is an x8 Gen 3 PCIe IPASS Front Connector available on the M9537A that allows you to cascade up to four AXIe/PXIe chassis together, creating a synchronized multi-chassis test system without sacrificing throughput.
In industrial automation applications, the M9537A replaces external PCs by directly connecting to the AXIe Ethernet fabric. While still requiring an external system module for the management of the chassis. The controller operates under a 64-bit Windows 7/10 operating system using Intel SGX & MPX security extensions to protect sensitive data. Tool-free removable solid-state drive and recovery partition to simplify maintenance and quickly recover from a failed unit. The Keysight/Agilent M9537A Embedded Controller excels in semiconductor testing, aerospace validation, and high channel count data logging by combining instrument control & analysis into one reliable computing node.
