Keysight/Agilent E7573A T1 Line Interface Module
The E7573A from Keysight/Agilent is a T1 Line Interface Module card to be used as a plug-in card for the Keysight Signaling Advisor Mainframe to perform deep protocol analysis and signalling monitoring on T1 circuits. In industrial automation environments, many existing digital trunks may carry either voice, data, or control signals; therefore, the Keysight E7573A provides a non-invasive view of how well the individual links are performing physically and in terms of their layer-2 connectivity. Additionally, as part of the Keysight Signalling Advisor family, the Keysight E7573A provides a portable troubleshooting tool for network professionals troubleshooting T1 based infrastructures.
The Keysight E7573A has four dual Bantam connector ports allowing for direct connection to the DUT and simultaneous monitoring of up to four bidirectional T1 signalling links. Each link can view all 24 time slots, therefore supporting both full rate and fractional T1 configurations. To address the diversity of customer requirements, there are eight independent receiver paths supporting applications such as GSM subrate channels at rates of 32kbps, 16 kbps and 8 kbps as well as transcoder and rate adaptation unit (TRAU) frame decode capability. Customer selectable line coding (AMI/B8ZS) and framing (SF/ESF) supports the variety of network implementations supported by customers.
In addition to providing accurate timestamping ±15ms to allow for the precise correlation of signalling events occurring on multiple links, the Keysight/Agilent E7573A will detect and report all Level 1 Receive Alarms (Loss of Signal, Alarm Indication Signal, Bipolar Violations, Loss of Frame, Remote Defect Indications and Severely Errored Frames). The receiver's electrical characteristics provide flexibility when making taps by presenting 100 ohms terminated mode with a 20dB loss +6dB cable loss at 0.772MHz while providing 1kohm bridge mode with only the 6db cable loss. The internal clock recovery circuitry provides tolerance to 1544MHZ ±50ppm to ensure reliable, real-time timing synchronisation with marginal lines. This makes the E7573A an indispensable tool for validating T1 signalling integrity in railway signalling networks, SCADA backhaul systems for power utilities and telecom switching environments.
