Keysight/Agilent J2298D E1/T1 Modules for the Keysight Advisor
The Keysight J2298D is a dual-purpose interface module developed specifically for use on the Advisor ATM/WAN Platform. The J2298D provides all of the testing capabilities necessary to support T1 (1.544Mb/s) and E1 (2.048Mb/s) testing applications within a single, compact plug-in unit. As a result, the module is ideal for users in industrial automation as well as telecommunication industries. Users will be able to analyze at a very detailed level both cell-based and frame-based protocol layers of their communications systems over either full or fractional link configurations. In addition to being a plug-in unit for the J2300C/D/E mainframe or the J2900A under cradle, the J2298D has four WECO mini bantam jacks and two 8-pin connectors that can be switched from RJ-48C to RJ-45 wiring to accommodate a wide variety of field interfaces.
As a comprehensive WAN diagnostics tool, the J2298D can handle the following WAN protocol types: ATM, Frame Relay, HDLC, SDLC, X.25, DTM, PPP, and Async PPP. The J2298D also includes options to test line codes, including B8ZS and AMI, with an option to choose between three framing modes (ESF, D4, and unframed). In terms of its physical layer capabilities, users can select to measure terminated, bridged, or monitored jack input with highly sensitive ranges. Additionally, users can capture alarms such as LOS, LOF, AIS, RAI, and bipolar violations. With automatic discovery and statistics available for up to 1024 virtual circuits, users have a simple way to map out their ATM traffic.
Besides providing passive monitoring capability of their communications system, the J2298D allows the user to create synthesized test cells and frames that they can send into their communications system to test traffic contracts and Quality of Service (QOS) parameter requirements according to ITU-T O.191. Also included is the ability to perform bit error ratio analysis by sending pattern(s) such as PRBS 2^23-1 in either the payload of a frame or cell.
Due to having two independent ports, users can simulate line or equipment conditions simultaneously and may select various build-out values for DSX-1 as well as network LBO levels; each port will operate independently utilizing one of the following clocking methods: recovered clock from the communications signal received via either port, internal clock, or external source. Users can record full-rate traffic with high-resolution (100 nanoseconds) timestamp granularity for later offline review using the module's 64MB memory buffer.
