Keysight/Agilent J3762B HSSI Module for the Keysight Advisor
The Keysight J3762B represents an HSSI interface module specifically designed to be installed in Keysight Advisor mainframes (J2300C/D/E and J2900A undercrates). This module includes two fifty-pin SCSI connectors, which will allow access to both DCE and DTE links, allowing users to either monitor these links passively or emulate them actively at speeds ranging from 56 KBPS to 52 MBPS. This module also has the ability to decode frame-based protocols such as Frame Relay (including CIR & SLA measurements), HDLC, SDLC, and PPP. Therefore, this module is highly valuable to users when they need to troubleshoot the connection between legacy routers & DSUs, satellite modems, industrial WAN backbones, etc.
This module complies with EIA 612/613 specifications, which represent the most stringent requirements for electrical specifications of HSSI interfaces. The J3762B provides its users with the option to select an internal clock source or recover the clock from the network. In addition, the J3762B allows users to monitor critical control signals: CA/TM on the DCE side and TA on the DTE side. Loopback diagnostics are provided by the J3762B for local DTE, local line, and remote line loops for DTE as well as for LC loopback for DCE. Data lines (SD/RD), clocks (ST/RT from DCE), TT from DTE, and status leads for DCE ready and DTE ready are all monitored by the J3762B. The loopback indicators LA/LB will enable users to verify immediately if a signal path exists while troubleshooting.
The Bit Error Rate Testing Functionality available in the J3762B enables users to test physical layer frame payloads or ATM cell payloads. Users can create their own custom 4000-byte user-defined pattern along with standard BERT patterns for analysis. This built-in BER capability will allow industrial automation engineers to stress test compliance and verify & fault isolate HSSI circuits without needing additional test equipment. With real-time protocol analysis and combined functionality, the J3762B will help engineer commissioning & maintenance activities of SCADA telemetry systems, remote I/O systems, and plant floor WAN segments that require deterministic performance. As part of the Advisor family of products, this module will transform your analyzer into a complete solution for diagnosing legacy high-speed serial networks via HSSI interfaces.
