Keysight/Agilent J6782A Network Troubleshooting Center (NTC)
The Keysight J6782A Network Troubleshooting Center (NTC) is a centralized software platform for monitoring and managing remote access and data from multiple Keysight analyzer instruments. The J6782A NTC includes remote access capabilities for all five of Keysight's network analyzers (the J6800A, J6801A, J6802B, J6805A, and J6840A) with a single common user interface. Using this centralized platform, one automation engineer can manage distributed test agents from a single location, thus avoiding the cost of stationing specialists at each remote site and significantly reducing travel and labor costs. The J6782A NTC also enables engineers to troubleshoot problems in the same manner whether they are being done centrally or remotely. Therefore, the platform provides faster problem resolution across various LANs/WANs.
Using the Keysight J6782A Network Troubleshooting Center, engineers can obtain comprehensive views of performance for all network devices connected using 10/100 Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, ATM, Frame Relay, and Packet over SONET. The center collects RMON1, RMON2, and MIB-II statistics from various locations, creating a complete picture of the overall health of a SCADA, distributed control, and/or real-time industrial network. Engineers are able to transition one click from a high-level dashboard view down to detailed diagnostics for individual switches, nodes, connections, protocols, and errors. These details allow engineers to rapidly isolate faults. Following isolation of a fault, the collected RMON statistics combined with additional advanced protocol analysis enable engineers to easily follow a structured process to go from fault detection to fault correction. The structured process results in significant reductions in mean time to repair (MTTR).
The J6782A NTC is available for either Windows or UNIX operating systems and offers proactive fault management using configurable threshold values that generate SNMP trap messages or execute customized scripts using the Policy Event Manager. This enables automated response to conditions where degradation is occurring but has not yet had a negative impact on operation. In addition, remote analyzer control provides the capability to perform deep packet inspection and traffic forensic activities at remote sites without sending technicians, thus saving costs. The J6782A NTC is designed to enable central teams and field personnel to operate within a unified troubleshooting framework. This unification will simplify employee training requirements, accelerate cross-technology diagnosis, and support a singular tool for the protection of complex automation systems.
