Keysight/Agilent U3051B SerialTek Protocol Analyzer
The Keysight/Agilent U3051B SAS/SATA protocol analyzer is a portable SerialTek BusXpert Micro/MicroLite tool that will decode/record 1 or 2 SAS/SATA ports at 1.5, 3.0, or 6 Gbps for troubleshooting problems with SSDs, host bus adapters, RAID controllers, and enterprise storage systems. Its trace buffer increases to as much as 18 GB; this provides for the ability of capturing traces for extended periods of time (unattended) when needed. A dedicated PCI Express x4 link transmits data at > 550 MB/sec to allow for rapid uploading of captured traces. Hardware-accelerated gigabit Ethernet supports rapid remote operation. Compressed and pre-indexed trace storage allows for fast searching of multi-gigabyte captures using the built-in InstaSearch engine.
The U3051B's micro configuration offers advanced triggering capabilities via three hardware sequencers, each supporting up to 16 states, 32 counters & timers, multiple-level branching, and external trigger I/O. The user can copy frame and primitive values directly from an open trace into definitions used for creating trigger definitions. Saved reusable event libraries can be loaded into future capture sessions. The microlite model offers single-event triggering options for simpler validation. Both versions offer 2-nanosecond timestamp resolution, a tunable rx/tx front end with an eye-opening phy, and fast data re-lock to maintain accurate capture at all supported SAS/SATA speeds. In addition to the deep trigger capabilities provided by the two versions of the u3051b, there is the added benefit of not having to waste valuable trace buffer space looking for intermittent protocol faults.
Captured traffic is displayed on the U3051B in multiple views organized by layer of the protocol stack, time, or raw user data. Select views mirror the specification structures defined in the SAS and SATA specifications. Bookmarks are added to events for team review, and all views export to CSV, XML, or HTML. Filtering during capture discards unwanted primitive frames and addresses as well as maximizing use of the trace buffer space. A real-time status panel replicates the front-panel LEDs indicating link, OOB, frame command, 10b error, and command error conditions. Two units of the u3051b can be cascaded together to create a four-port analysis platform. Additionally, all trace buffer sizes and feature options are field upgradeable to meet changing development needs. The flexible platform provided by the u3051b reduces debug cycles.
