Keysight/Agilent U3051C SerialTek BusXpert Micro SAS/SATA Protocol Analyzer
The Keysight U3051C BusXpert Micro is a low-profile, portable SAS/SATA protocol analyzer that works with 1.5, 3.0, and 6.0 Gbps link speeds. It has 2 (or one) full duplex ports using standard SATA 7-pin connectors. This tool comes with a license for either SAS/SATA capture (including STP) or just SATA. At approximately 6x9x1.75 inches and weighing slightly over 2 pounds, this unit makes for a very easy transition from the bench to the field site. The U3051C has an expandable 9 GB of trace memory, allowing long-term capture of traffic without losing any data. Additionally, the native PHY front-end includes an eye-opening circuit as well as fast data relock and allows user-adjustable receiver and transmitter settings to ensure good-quality signals on all channels. In addition to the above capabilities, the BusXpert Micro provides a high-precision time-stamping capability by having a 2-nanosecond time-stamping capability, which ensures correct timing for all protocol transactions.
The U3051C also features a trigger system that will support up to three parallel sequencers. Each sequencer contains 16 states, timers/counters, and jumps. These sequencers enable the engineer to create complex triggers without needing additional external logic. There are per-port LEDs that provide visual indication of auto-speed, OOB, link, frame, 10b, and command error status. Additional trigger inputs include an external trigger input and a manual button that can be used to coordinate with other scope/logic analyzers. For larger multi-port systems, there are provisions available for cascading two micro units together.
When using two micro units together, they will allow engineers to record traffic on multiple ports simultaneously. Also, when combining both the BusXpert Micro and a BusXpert Micro Lite USB analyzer, they will allow engineers to analyze and synchronize SAS/SATA and USB traffic in one graphical interface. Data captured with the BusXpert Micro can be transferred to a host computer using either PCIe (>550 MB/sec) or Gigabit Ethernet (>70 MB/sec).
The graphical user interface of the BusXpert Micro runs on both Windows and Linux operating systems, providing InstaSearch functionality, multiple traffic displays, an automation API, and exporting captured data into formats such as CSV, HTML, and XML. Users can apply DC power to the DUT via an external 5VDC/12VDC power source for testing purposes
