Keysight M9019A PXIe Chassis
The Keysight M9019A is an eighteen-slot (3U PXIe) chassis designed for high-bandwidth applications in industrial automation test & measurement. The Gen 3 PCIe Backplane enables a maximum system data transfer rate of 24 GB/s by utilizing the two-link system slot (x8, x16) and providing 8 GB/s to each of the sixteen Hybrid Slots. As such, this allows for rapid streaming from multiple PXIe modules. In addition, the Hybrid Slot Design will accept PXIe, PXI-Hybrid, PXI-1, and CompactPCI instruments. This allows system integrators to have extreme flexibility in developing multi-vendor test systems.
The chassis includes one dedicated timing slot and three trigger bus segments, which can be configured for precise synchronization. Two front-panel SMB trigger ports and a 10 MHz BNC reference clock interface provide communication links to external instruments.
The M9019A PXIe chassis is rack-mountable and uses only 4 units (U) of space. It takes advantage of an exclusive cooling technique. The front and side of the enclosure draw in cool air and exhaust warm air out the back. Temperature sensors mounted on the backplane will automatically speed the fans to optimize module cooling regardless of ambient conditions. This allows for operation up to 55°C and 10,000 feet above sea level. The power supply assembly and the fan assembly can be removed from the enclosure and still remain installed in the rack, thus allowing removal and replacement of parts with minimal interruption to cabling and equipment connections.
The M9019A is utilized by engineers to build advanced automated test systems for applications such as validation of semiconductors, testing for aerospace/defense, and inspecting products at the end-of-line in the manufacturing process. The M9019A’s high-speed backplane can support high channel count data acquisition, real-time control operations, and generate or analyze RF signals. In addition to these benefits, the M9019A offers significant advantages when building multi-chassis test systems. These include power sequencing control of the chassis modules from the main chassis and remote inhibit/monitoring capabilities via a rear DB-9 connector, which together provide a highly reliable and scalable platform for large-scale test system infrastructures. The M9019A can supply up to 800 watts of DC power to demanding module loads utilizing the available 220–240 volts while remaining compact.
